I’m not going to be pulling any April Fool’s Day jokes on anyone, but that is the first thing you think about when April comes around. Just like March, in like a lion, out like a lamb. Well, April comes in just plain lyin’.

This April also brings a another alert, the Conficker threat. You probably have heard about it on the news or other articles that there has been a dormant infection that could cause some havoc today. Hopefully, everyone took the steps to make sure their computer is secure and updated. Let’s hope this worm doesn’t do any significant damage.  We don’t need any unpleasant surprises in this  already volatile economic state.

There is more to April too! April is National Poetry Month and National Sexual Awareness Month in the United States. Taxes are due on April 15 (and don’t you forget it!) and Easter falls in April this year. There are countless other awareness days and holidays throughout the month. I could go on on…but the big item that caught my eye is that April is Financial Literacy Month.

Of course, financial literacy is on our minds 24/7, but it’s nice to have an outlet that allows the financial community to come together. Be sure to follow the action on Money Management International’s blog including great information provided by our peers. For 30 days, you’ll see very informative posts, so be sure to check them out. Are you ready to commit to the challenge?

Spread the word, don’t spread the worm!

April 1st brings us April Fool’s, Conficker and the start of Financial Literacy Month. Let’s all make a difference together!
